The 2019 Compass has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It has power steering and battery run down protection as well.
The Latitude and higher trim levels come with a stop-start dual battery system. When you stop the vehicle, the engine shuts off to save fuel. The secondary battery keeps the radio, air conditioning, and other amenities working. Four-wheel drive is optional, and you can use the Selec-Terrain traction management system to choose Auto, Snow, Sand, or Rock driving modes. The Compass can travel 23 miles per gallon in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

The 2019 Jeep Compass has a variety of advanced safety features, including all-speed traction control, electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, a theft deterrent system with an engine immobilizer, hill start assist, and a rearview camera.
