Chrysler’s Pacifica has become one of the most popular minivans in the country thanks to its elegant design and versatile, amenity-rich cabin. It also happens to be available with a chargeable hybrid system, making it even more of a great value. Powertrain and Charging
The Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid’s 3.6L V6 and electric motors produce a total of 260 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque. When this powerplant combines with the vehicle’s continuously variable transmission, responsive performance and strong acceleration is achieved. The powertrain is capable of truly impressive efficiency at an EPA-rated 82 MPGe combined.
Even if this model runs out of fuel, it has an all-electric driving range of up to 32 miles. With the standard Level 1 charging cable, the 16-kWh battery takes about 12 hours to fully charge, but an available Chrysler Level 2 charging station will be able to do it in about two hours.
Passenger Cabin
Much of the Pacifica’s claim to fame comes from its incredibly spacious and inviting interior that features seating for seven. While the first two rows provide around 40 inches of legroom, the third row still has plenty of space to stretch with its 36.5 inches of legroom. The cabin comes standard with second-row captain’s chairs that quickly tilt forward with the pull of a lever to grant access to the third row.
Need to transport a lot of cargo? The second row chairs are simple to remove, and the third row seating can be stowed into the floor, allowing for a maximum cargo space of 140.5 cubic feet. All trims come standard with dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support. Limited and Pinnacle models add plush leather upholstery and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade.
Multimedia System
A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard equipment and offers support for wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay integration, Amazon Alexa connectivity, and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. There are up to 12 USB ports found throughout the cabin, so passengers will have no problem connecting their devices. They can also pass the time during trips by watching their favorite movies and shows on the available dual-screen rear entertainment system.
If you have any youngsters riding in the back, you’ll have an easy time keeping an eye on them with the available FamCAM, which can display multiple views on the same screen.
