There’s a lot to consider when you’re shopping for a new vehicle. You’ll likely test-drive several models and evaluate amenities ranging from sunroofs to suede seats. There’s also another key consideration when you’re picking out a new set of wheels, and that’s fuel efficiency. Driving a fuel-efficient vehicle saves you money at the gas pump and is good for the environment. Your local Jeep dealer has several efficient models worth a look.

1. Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid

The Chrysler Pacific Hybrid is proof that driving a larger vehicle doesn’t automatically mean you have to sacrifice fuel economy. This seven-passenger minivan gets about 22 miles per gallon when taking into consideration its performance on both highways and city streets. The gas-powered version of the Pacifica runs on a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 287 horsepower.

Switching to the hybrid version of the Pacific boosts this vehicle’s fuel economy even further. With its 3.6-liter V-6 and its two electric motors, the Hybrid version of the Pacifica gets an EPA-estimated 82 miles per gallon equivalent when combining both highway and city performance. Once the battery pack has been exhausted, the Pacifica has a combined fuel economy rating of 30 miles per gallon and an all-electric driving range of 32 miles.

2. Jeep Wrangler 4xe

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is another hybrid option that offers terrific fuel economy as well as capable handling. This Jeep gets an EPA-estimated 49 miles per gallon equivalent. You can travel roughly 370 miles on a single tank of gas and a fully charged electric battery, and the Wrangler 4xe has an electric-only range of 21 miles.

3. Dodge Durango

The Dodge Durango is a three-row family hauler that offers plenty of power and fuel economy that saves you money at the pump. The Durango can be had with a V-6 engine with 295 horsepower or a V-8 engine with 360 horsepower.

The V-6 engine is the more efficient of the two, with a fuel economy rating of 19 miles per gallon on city streets and 26 on the highway. The V-8 engine gets 14 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway.

4. Ram 1500

If a truck is more your speed, check out the Ram 1500. The Ram comes with several different engine options and boasts plenty of towing capacity. This truck also scores well for fuel economy, with an EPA-estimated 23 or 25 miles per gallon of combined performance, depending on which engine you have.
