Jeep Wrangler 4xE

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid is the newest addition to the immensely popular Wrangler line and carries on the Wrangler’s long history of rugged off-road capabilities while also updating itself for a more sustainable future.

Basics About the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe

The 4xe is the same Wrangler that we have all come to know and love, just with an added hybrid powertrain and upgraded technology for the 2023 model year.

With the added weight of dual electric motors and the battery, the 4xe enjoys added stability over other Wrangler trim levels, which translates into a hybrid Jeep that is more than capable of handling the uneven ground and challenges associated with off-roading.

New Features in the 4xe

Engine and Performance

The 2023 4xe uses a 2L inline four-cylinder engine that is combined with a dual electric motor setup with a 17-kWh battery. This makes the 4xe the second-most powerful Wrangler option available for the 2023 model year, with 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque at a very impressive 49 mpg-e combined.

On an empty tank, the 4xe can run for 22 miles on electric power alone. The 4xe comes with a Level 1 charging cable that can charge the battery to full from empty in 12 hours. You can choose to upgrade to a Level 2 charging station that can do the same in just two hours. The 4xe also enjoys regenerative braking, which will help maintain the battery’s charge while driving.

Interior

Every 4xe comes standard with a 7-inch infotainment system that comes with a six-month trial of SiriusXM and a premium 9-speaker audio system that includes an all-weather subwoofer and an overhead sound bar that is ideal for camping weekends or beach parties.

Wranglers are known for their customization options, and the 2023 4xe is no exception. A number of option groups are available, including a sunroof, soft-top, upgraded remote start system, and trailer tow and electrical hookups.

Safety Features

The 4xe comes standard with features designed to make off-roading safe and fun, including sill rails that prevent rocks from jumping up and scratching the vehicle and mud-terrain tires. All 4xe trim levels can be upgraded to include blind spot monitoring, rear parking assist, forward collision warning, and automatic high beam control.

Jeep’s Warranty

Jeep offers a generous 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty on the 2023 4xe, as well as a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty on the powertrain. Most notable, however, is the generous coverage of the Wrangler’s battery under its own 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
