1. Bangkok 96 Street Food
This restaurant was started by a Thai native in 1996 (hence the name), and she believes in serving cuisine from her homeland that is also mixed with an American flavor to create unique dishes. Her creations come out beautiful to look at and even better to taste. You’ll love the sticky rice, which is fluffy and perfectly prepared. Try the salmon and shrimp, the candied beef, or the crispy chicken bowl. The Thai drinks are great as well.
2. Takoi
This modern establishment serves tasty food with a perfect blend of spices. A unique thing about dining here is that they have shared plates, so bring the whole family or group of friends and enjoy a large variety of meals. We suggest curry, noodles, kabobs, or whole fish. There are gluten-free options as well as plenty of vegetarian dishes.
3. Bangkok Cafe
From spring rolls and shrimp chips, to curries to noodles, you’ll find a variety of tasty Thai dishes. This is located in a small, cozy strip mall environment. We recommend the chicken or shrimp fried rice, the drunken shrimp noodles, the bean sprouts with crushed peanuts on top, or the Siam chicken wings. Ask for your preferred level of spice, from mild to medium to hot. The staff is friendly as well. Keep in mind they offer takeout only.
4. May’s Bangkok Express
For a great lunch break, visit this eatery, which serves home-cooked meals at affordable prices. The curry chicken is a great pick, as are the tofu options for those vegetarians out there. We love that you can ask them for a “level 10” spice, and they’ll oblige. You can either dine in here or order for convenient takeout.
5. Pi’s Thai Cuisine
When you’re in a hurry or just in the mood for takeout, this is your place. When you call ahead to place your order, it’ll be ready in less than 30 minutes for your convenience. This locals’ favorite serves delicious cuisine such as spicy curries and noodles, Yum Neau, and Nam Sod. We especially enjoy the pineapple curry, beef pad Thai, crab ragoons, and curry buns. They are cash-only.
