What's the Difference Between the Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, Pacifica, and Chrysler Voyager?

Chrysler's minivans are staples on the suburban streets, reliably carrying families to and from their everyday activities. Their minivan lineup includes the Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, Pacifica, and Chrysler Voyager. You may be wondering what the differences are between these vans, so stay tuned to find out. more Powertrain The gas-powered Pacifica uses a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that produces 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and comes in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The Voyager uses the same V6 engine as the Pacifica and pairs with the same transmission. However, unlike the Pacifica, it comes in front-wheel drive only. The Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) takes the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and adds two electric motors and a 16-kWh battery. Taken together, this system produces a combined 260 horsepower. Fuel efficiency is where the Pacifica PHEV shines. Once the battery is depleted, the vehicle reverts to using gasoline, providing flexibility for drivers who don't feel like charging the battery. Interior The Voyager comes in a single trim, offering seating for seven with second-row captain's chairs and a third-row bench seat. The Voyager has a value-focused yet comfortable interior, with leatherette upholstery and an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat. It includes Stow 'n Go second and third row seats, which can be removed for maximum cargo storage. The Pacifica is the only model to offer room for up to 8 passengers, and like the Voyager, it offers Stow 'n Go seating in both rows, while the Pacifica PHEV only has it in the third row. Both the standard Pacifica and PHEV versions offer available upscale features such as Nappa leather upholstery, a sunroof, and ventilated front seats. Technology All vans feature a 10.1-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an Amazon Alexa voice assistant. While all vans come with a standard 6-speaker stereo, only the Pacifica and Pacifica PHEV offer the ability to upgrade to a premium Harman Kardon system. They also offer additional tech capabilities such as a rear-seat entertainment system with built-in Amazon Fire TV and a FamCAM camera with split-screen views. The Pacifica PHEV includes additional views on the touchscreen for information related to the battery and electric powertrain. Drivers can also set a charging schedule using their smartphone to take advantage of off-peak energy hours. All three of Chrysler's minivans are excellent options for reliable family transport. Those with budgets in mind will enjoy what the attractively priced Voyager has to offer, while families who want to take full advantage of premium technology and amenities will love the Pacifica. If you're looking to save as much as possible on gas, consider the Pacifica PHEV. Get started today at Bill Snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Highland Park, MI.

Chrysler's Advanced Safety Systems: Keeping Your Family Secure on the Road

Image via Bill Snethkamp CDJR. Safety is at the heart of everything Chrysler does, and that is why all their cars are well-appointed with the latest features. As your CDJR dealer will inform you, Chrysler safety features do not replace your responsibility to operate your vehicle safely and attentively. However, they serve as an invaluable extra set of eyes on the road, leading to a more confident, responsible, and surefooted driving experience. more Forward Collision Alert With Active Braking This feature is designed to warn you if you are about to crash into a slower-moving or stationary vehicle in front of you. If a collision is imminent, the system will display a red collision alert on the dash, accompanied by several high-pitched beeps. This provides you with the opportunity to brake or swerve in time. If you don't react quickly enough, the car will initiate braking automatically. Adaptive Cruise Control Adaptive Cruise Control system is a vastly enhanced conventional cruise control. It not only performs the duty of traditional cruise control, i.e., maintaining a set speed, but it can also automatically adjust the speed of your vehicle to maintain a safe, pre-defined minimum distance from those ahead of it. It is especially great on highways and city roads with lots of stop-and-go traffic because it frees you from the responsibility of touching the pedals. You only have to steer and concentrate on the road. Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking This system uses sensors to detect and monitor moving or stationary pedestrians in front of you. When a nearby pedestrian is detected, a warning light will be issued on the gauge cluster to alert you of their presence. If your vehicle approaches a detected pedestrian too quickly, the system may automatically apply brakes if necessary. Lane Departure Warning With Lane Keep Assist Even the most attentive drivers can experience momentary lapses in concentration, leading to drifting out of lane lines. These drifts can sometimes lead to collisions with adjacent vehicles or running off the road. To reduce this risk, Chrysler's Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist system actively monitors your vehicle's position within its lane markings. If it detects an unintended drift, the system provides a brief steering nudge to guide the car back into its lane. Rear Cross Path Detection Backing out of a parking lot does not have to be a gamble, thanks to the Rear Cross Path Detection system found in your Chrysler. To use this feature, reverse your car slowly until you expose the rear end. The Rear Cross Path Detection system will then have a clear view of traffic approaching from the left or right and warn you if any oncoming vehicle is detected. Ready to experience the peace of mind offered by these features? Visit Bill Snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Highland Park, MI, and take a test drive.

Should You Get a New or a Used CDJR Vehicle?

Image via Bill Snethkamp CDJR. Eyeing a car at the local CDJR dealer, but you can't decide between new or used? It's a classic car-buying dilemma, and each route offers its own perks and quirks. In this article, we'll cover the advantages and disadvantages more New Car Appeal All the Latest Features Opting for a brand-spanking-new CDJR means you're getting the cream of the crop: all the newest tech, safety gadgets, and sleek designs right out of the gate. Wonderful Warranty New cars come with warranties that have your back for the first few years. This means less sweating over unexpected repair bills for anything that falls under warranty coverage. Sweet Dealer Incentives New car buyers often get the red carpet rolled out for them with offers of lower interest rates or tempting deals like cash back. Customize Your Heart Out Got your heart set on a specific color or feature? Buying new often means you can get your ride exactly how you want it, right down to the little details. The Downside The sting of depreciation hits hardest with new cars. They lose value the moment you drive them off the lot, especially in the first year. Plus, you'll generally pay more in insurance for a new vehicle. Pre-Loved Perks More Car For Your Cash Your budget stretches further in the used car market. Thanks to depreciation, you might snag a higher trim or a model with all the bells and whistles at a price that won't make your budget unhappy. Save on Insurance Insurance premiums are usually lower for used cars, thanks to their lower value. Over time, this can add up to significant savings, lowering your overall cost of ownership. The Downside Used cars are, by definition, older , and that means they're likely to break down sooner, requiring repairs that may not be covered by a warranty anymore. Plus, each car comes with an unknown history. Even with a comprehensive check and a clean vehicle history report, some issues might not be immediately obvious. Certified Pre-Owned: The Best of Both Worlds If you're looking for the middle ground, Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles get a thorough inspection and come with a warranty, offering a blend of new-car confidence and used-car value. Should You Choose New or Used at the Chrysler Dealer? This is a question you have to decide for yourself. If you're all about getting the latest model with a warranty and customization options, a new vehicle from our inventory might be your best bet. But if you're looking to get more bang for your buck by skipping the hassle of depreciation, then a used car from Bill Snethkamp CDJR could be the way to go. At the end of the day, weighing the pros and cons will steer you toward the best choice for your driveway. Come by Bill Snethcamp CDJR in Highland Park, MI, to take a look at our inventory today!

Car headlights

Does Your Chrysler Need New Headlights?

You just can't drive safely without working headlights on your vehicle and, it's not even legal to drive at night without them. There are some tell-tale signs that your headlights are near the end of their lives, and you'll want to make it a priority to replace them if you think the bulbs are about done. This list will help you know if you need new headlights before visiting your Chrysler dealer. more 1. The Headlights Have Become Fainter After owning a vehicle for a while, you're sure to know how bright the front lights normally shine, and the difference will be notable as they start to diminish. Sometimes this is due to a buildup of dirt and grime on top of the lens and you'll be able to clean it off, but if the dust is accumulated on the inside you might prefer to bring the vehicle in for a touch-up. If the lens is clean, however, you might be witnessing the bulbs dim due to the filament reaching the end of its lifespan. Once the bulbs are out the only way to solve the problem is a replacement, so you'll want to have new lights installed. If one bulb is about finished the odds are that the other one is soon to follow, so it may make more sense to have both updated in one visit. 2. Your Lights Are Flickering Headlights that blink on and off are not a great sign for the health of your bulbs. The issue could potentially be electrical, with something like a bad battery connection, or physical from something like a loose bulb harness (resulting in moving and wearing away of the wires connection). Both of these issues will require assessment from a mechanic. Alternatively, the bulbs could simply have been used for a long time, and the filament has taken on normal damage from being aged. Filaments cannot be replaced on their own, and the only rectifier to worn-out bulbs is a new set of lights, so bring your vehicle in for an upgrade once you've noticed the flickering has started. 3. One or Both Bulbs Are Completely Blacked Out This issue should be pretty obvious since the bulbs will not come back on once completely burnt. What may not be so apparent, though, is that losing one bulb is still a sign you need both replaced. Headlights time out at about the same rate, and if you have lost one, the other is going to die soon as well. It's impossible to drive safely at night without both of your headlights working properly, and once you begin to notice signs they are going out, the bulb life is sure to expire soon.
