Series II The Series II is also offered with 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains and comes standard with 20-inch wheels upgradeable to 22-inch polished aluminum wheels. The Ultimate Guide to Enhancing Your Jeep's Off-Road Capabilities

Image via Bill Snethkamp CDJR As a CDJR dealer, we may be biased, but when it comes to adventure, we believe nothing tops a Jeep's performance and capabilities. Whether you're hitting the trail in a Grand Cherokee or fording water in a Wrangler 4xe, there's something special about Jeep's lineup of Trail Rated vehicles. But how can you get the most out of your Jeep when the real fun only starts once the pavement ends? more Upgraded Tires Different tires are meant for different jobs, and what will play nicely on the highway may not always be the best choice when sharp rocks and sticks are trying to poke holes in your rubber. Deep treads, reinforced sidewalls, and all-terrain versatility are crucial in keeping your Jeep rolling. Check with your dealer about what tires may best suit your needs. Protective Bumpers and Skid Plate Your Jeep's skid plate and bumpers protect your vehicle both from obstacles and debris. Just like you, your Jeep's underbelly can be vulnerable; making sure your skid plate is in good shape (or getting one installed if your vehicle didn't come with one off the line) can protect your Jeep's vitals when the going gets bumpy. Regular Maintenance As unadventurous as regular maintenance may sound, your capabilities in the back woods depend on keeping your Jeep in top condition. Regular oil changes, brake and shock inspections, and engine tune-ups can make a big difference out on the trail. Consider investing in synthetic oil to help protect your engine if you expect a lot of hard-revving or heavy wear. Just like you, your Jeep needs to breathe, and exposure to sand, dust, or pollen can quickly clog your Jeep's air filter. Have your maintenance team inspect your air filter before your next adventure and heed their advice on whether to change it, since regularly replacing your filter can keep your engine getting the oxygen it needs to turn gasoline into grins. Rubber Duckies Spreading joy may not sound much like an off-road capability, but the simple truth is that Jeep owners are a special class of driver. Keeping a stash of rubber duckies in the glove box to leave on another Jeep's windshield can be a great way to help tie the community together, calling out another Jeep for a pretty paint job or a particularly prominent set of mud splatters. The rubber ducky tradition keeps the spirit of playful adventure alive. Whether you're looking to keep the engine running smoothly or to beef up your carrying capacity with extra fuel tanks, our team can help you find exactly what you need to make your next outdoor adventure even better than the last one. Stop by Bill Snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Highland Park, MI and let our team of experts help get your Jeep ready to rev.

Your First Jeep: 7 Tips for New Drivers

Image via Bill Snethkamp CDJR. Learning to drive is an exciting rite of passage, and your Jeep dealer would like to give you a few tips on how to make sure the experience is a great one. There are a few things that new drivers need to learn and practice to ensure they stay safe on the roads. more Learn All About the Safety Features Familiarize yourself with the airbag system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control, and all advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane-keeping assist or adaptive cruise control. Spend some time going through them and getting the settings the way you want them, so there are no surprises. Practice the Effective Use of Mirrors and Blind Spot Checks Regularly adjust and use your rearview and side mirrors to get a complete view of your surroundings. However, don't rely solely on mirrors; always perform blind spot checks before changing lanes or turning, as mirrors can't cover every angle. Adapt Your Driving to Weather Conditions You must learn to adapt your driving style to different weather conditions, and don't pay attention to the fact that many drivers neglect this: be better. In rain, snow, fog, or on poorly lit streets at night, reduce your speed, increase following distance, and use your headlights. Refine Your Turning and Maneuvering Skills Practice smooth and precise turning. When maneuvering in tight spaces, like parking lots or during U-turns, take it slow and be aware of your car's dimensions. This practice builds your spatial awareness; and if you've ever seen someone with a giant SUV or truck taking up three lanes just to make a simple turn, you'll realize how important this step is. Practice Effective Communication with Other Drivers Many drivers don't use their turn signals or don't use them right: don't be one of these foolish people. Always use your turn signal, and remember that you need to put it on before you start slowing down, not after you've braked and just before you make the turn. Be Prepared for an Emergency Keep an emergency kit in your car, including items like a first-aid kit, flashlight, jumper cables, and basic tools. Also, have a plan for roadside emergencies, such as a flat tire or engine trouble. Knowing whom to call and what to do can take the panic out of these situations. Don't Think You'll Ever Be Too Good to Improve Driving skills improve over time and with experience, and they always continue to improve as you use them. Be open to learning from every drive, whether it's understanding road signs better, mastering the timing of your braking, or getting more comfortable with highway driving. We hope you'll love driving as much as you love your Jeep. For more tips and service to keep your Jeep running reliably all the time, contact us at Bill Snethkamp CDJR.

What's Covered in an Extended Warranty on a New Jeep?

Image via Bill Snethkamp CDJR. An extended warranty can help you cut down on repair costs for covered vehicle components. Extending your warranty coverage is a good idea if you want to maintain the power, performance, and protection of your Jeep for as long as possible. When you visit your Jeep dealer to purchase a longer warranty, you will have a couple of programs to choose from. more What's Covered in an Extended Warranty on a New Jeep? For Jeep, extended coverage for your warranty is called a Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan. Mopar offers two tiers for this plan. The Mopar Maximum Care Plan will cover 5,000 vehicle components for eight years or up to 125,000 miles. This plan is essentially bumper-to-bumper coverage, similar to the new vehicle warranty that comes with your Jeep. The second plan, Mopar Added Care Plus, covers the most essential components of your vehicle for a minimum of five years and a maximum of eight. This vehicle protection plan will cover drivetrain elements, the steering system, the brake system, the cooling and fuel systems, the engine, the transmission, the air conditioning, and the front and rear suspensions. Exclusions You can only purchase a vehicle protection plan for your Jeep before the basic limited warranty on your vehicle ends. These protection plans will not cover vehicle components damaged from reckless driving, lack of maintenance, severe weather, theft, or vandalism. The warranty does not cover wear and tear vehicle components like brake pads or the cost of routine maintenance. Perks These protection plans come with some perks, such as roadside assistance and towing assistance. Drivers can be reimbursed for car rentals and trip interruptions. The cost of key fob replacements or repairs will also be covered. However, these perks will expire after 100,000 miles, even if you are under a maximum-length vehicle protection plan. Where Can You Have Repairs Under This Warranty? Repairs are only covered if they are performed at an authorized dealership with genuine parts from Mopar. Ask Your Jeep Dealer: What Other Warranties Does Jeep Offer? When you purchase a new Jeep, you get the benefit of several warranty programs. The Jeep basic limited warranty lasts for three years, or up to 36,000 miles, while the powertrain limited warranty will last for five years or 60,000 miles. Jeep also adds a federal emissions warranty that lasts for up to two years and an anti-corrosion perforation limited warranty. If you purchase a certified pre-owned Jeep, your vehicle will have a limited powertrain warranty that will last until the odometer hits 100,000 miles. A vehicle protection plan can cover the cost of repairs for expensive vehicle parts, such as your powertrain or drivetrain. There's also plenty of room and options when it comes to hauling cargo as well, with a 60/40 split-folding seat that frees up space when you need it, a power-folding third-row bench seat that folds completely down with the push of a button, and a convenient Cargo Management System that lets you organize and separate cargo as needed. Cutting-Edge Technology As for technology, this edition has you more than covered with its many innovative entertainment and safety-monitoring features. Take the Uconnect 5 NAV system, for example, an infotainment system that provides hands-free calling, multimedia playback, and turn-by-turn navigation instructions on a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Your front-seat passenger can have their own screen with the 10.25-inch Interactive Display, and Wi-Fi is available for all with the vehicle's mobile hotspot. To prevent collisions, both Active Lane Management and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning can detect hazardous situations and warn you of them, with the first feature using subtle steering wheel nudges if you start to leave the center of your lane and the latter feature alerting you to slower vehicles in your path. If you do approach a vehicle or object too quickly, Active Braking can then step in to automatically apply the brakes when necessary. Luxury meets versatility in this stylish SUV, and it's now available for test drives here at our dealership in Highland Park.
