2025 Dodge Hornet
The 2025 Dodge Hornet makes a statement in the compact SUV segment with its muscular design and powerful engine options. A wide stance and aggressive styling give this high-performance five-passenger vehicle a commanding road presence.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Standard equipment on the 2025 Hornet GT includes automatic high-beam headlamps, LED taillamps, two front puddle lights, and a GT upper and lower mesh grille. The GT Plus maintains these features and adds a hands-free power liftgate and a power sunroof. Both models have 17-inch silver aluminum wheels and offer 20-inch wheels with an Abyss finish and red-painted brake calipers as upgrades. Paint options range from bold Hot Tamale and Acapulco Gold to subtle Gray Cray and Q Ball.
Engine (Power)
The 205 Hornet GT and GT Plus feature a gas-powered 2.0-liter dual overhead camshaft Hurricane I-4 with stop/start technology. The engine generates 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The standard all-wheel-drive system enhances traction and handling.
Performance
With its capable powertrain, the 2025 Hornet GT accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, reaching a manufacturer-claimed top speed of 140 mph. It earns fuel-efficiency ratings of 21 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. When properly equipped, the Hornet GT and GT Plus have a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.
The SUV is 178 inches long, 82 inches wide (with mirrors), and 63.8 inches tall, and it has 8 inches of ground clearance. Its compact dimensions enhance maneuverability, and a 103.8-inch wheelbase translates into a tight 38-foot turning circle.
Interior
A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard on both trims. The Hornet GT has a Uconnect 5 system featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and the system in the GT Plus adds built-in navigation. Both models come with black Alcantara seats with red accents, and red leather seating surfaces are available for the GT Plus. The higher model also has a heated leather steering wheel, heated front seats, a wireless charging pad, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. A 60/40-split folding rear seat provides flexible cargo and passenger arrangements, and the SUV offers a maximum cargo volume of 27 cubic feet.
Safety Features
Standard safety and driver-assist features include cruise control, rear parking sensors, blind-spot warning, and forward collision mitigation. The optional Tech Package adds front parking sensors and active driving assist. The advanced airbag system provides comprehensive protection with front, side, and curtain airbags. Available technologies include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
A 360-degree surround-view camera system, traffic sign recognition, and drowsy driver detection technology help increase driver awareness and safety. While complete National Highway Traffic Safety Administration testing is pending, early Insurance Institute for Highway Safety evaluations show favorable performance in frontal-offset and side-impact tests.
