2022 Jeep Compass

Jeep redesigned the 2022 Compass, transforming the front end to make it look more luxurious and sleek. It shows off the traditional Jeep grille, along with dual lower grilles flanked by available fog lights. This model comes in five trim levels, which are Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, and Trailhawk. Additional exterior features on the Sport trim include 16-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, roof rails, and LED front lighting. The Latitude adds larger 17-inch wheels, automatic headlights, and fog lights. The Latitude Lux is a new model for 2022, and it comes with a few exterior styling features, 18-inch wheels, and remote engine start. If you want a more eye-catching model, the Limited boasts a black-painted roof, plus automatic wipers with de-icing functionality. At the top of the list, the Trailhawk trim is best-equipped for rough terrain with a raised suspension, underbody skid plates, tow hooks, and off-road-oriented tires.

All five trim levels of the Compass come with the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission on the lower two trims, which also come with front-wheel drive as standard. The upper trims include Jeep's all-wheel-drive system as standard, which pairs with an upgraded nine-speed automatic transmission.

If you plan to take your Compass off-roading, the Trailhawk trim is your best bet. It comes with the features needed to tackle rough terrain, along with a unique all-wheel-drive system that includes low-range settings and a selectable mode for driving over rocks. However, this small SUV is also appealing for those who plan to stay on the roads. It boasts a comfortable ride and precise handling, making it a versatile option for any driver.

Climb into the cabin of the Sport trim to find cloth upholstery, manual climate control with rear vents, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. Standard tech includes a six-speaker audio system with satellite radio, an 8.4-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, and USB ports in both rows of seating. Stepping up to the Latitude trim adds faux leather upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, and a faux leather-wrapped steering wheel. The mid-level Latitude Lux has real leather upholstery, along with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a larger 10.1-inch touch screen. With the Limited trim, you get ambient interior lighting and dual-zone automatic climate control. Those features come standard on the Trailhawk, along with a few interior enhancements. Jeep offers several packages that bundle options like wireless device charging, heated rear seats, navigation, a premium Alpine sound system, upgraded leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats.

New for 2022, the Compass includes forward-collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure mitigation. This SUV is also available with upgrades like front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, an automated parking system, and a 360-degree camera.
