2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee follows a long tradition of quality SUVs made by the famed off-road vehicle manufacturer. Fortunately, it lives up to the expectations and hype. The 2020 Grand Cherokee provides a mix of performance and creature comforts that many drivers—on and off the road—will find appealing.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Grand Cherokee comes in seven different trim levels, the Laredo, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk. The Laredo is the base model, and while it comes with impressive features, it's topped by the Limited, which has a powered liftgate.
The Trailhawk adds driving versatility with off-road tires, 4WD complete with Quadra-Trac II gearing, and Quadra-Drive II traction control that lets you adjust to different conditions. The adjustable air suspension helps it maneuver, and unique exterior styling rounds off the aggressive presentation.
The Overland is similar to the Trailhawk, but with fewer off-road upgrades, and the Summit, complete with self-parking, is a more luxury version of the Overland.
The SRT comes with more horsepower and all-wheel-drive designed for taking the vehicle off the road. It has summer performance tires, and steering and brake systems that are sport-tuned. It also has a sporty body kit, steering and brakes, and limited-slip rear differential.
At the top of the line is the Trackhawk, which comes suited with the majority of the SRT's features, but a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, an eight-speed transmission, 20-inch wheels with performance tires to match, and Brembo brakes.
Engine (Power)
The base model, the Laredo, has a 3.6-liter V6 engine, but the Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit offer a more powerful 5.7-liter V8 with 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The SRT packs a 6.4-liter V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Trackhawk is the beast of the group with a 6.2-liter V8 pumping 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque.
Performance
The standard V6 can go from zero to 60 in 8.0 seconds, and despite all of its weight, its brakes can bring it from 60 mph to a complete stop in 124 feet.
The real power of the 2020 Grand Cherokee is in its towing capabilities. It can haul 7,200 pounds. Add to that the adjustable traction, 4WD options, and suspension system, and you have a versatile, hungry, off-road warrior.
Interior
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee is spacious in terms of both legroom and headroom. The cockpit is designed to give the driver complete control while putting them in a position primed for responsive driving. All necessary functions are a short reach away, making control of the Grand Cherokees auxiliary functions easy and convenient.
Leather upholstery, a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon speaker system, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen further enhance the Grand Cherokee's interior experience.
Safety Features
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers many important safety features. For example, Blind-Spot Monitoring which warns you when a vehicle is approaching or in your blind spot. Forward Collision Mitigation can detect and subsequently warn the driver of any object or vehicle that has stopped short. It will engage emergency braking to help avoid an accident. Lane Departure Warnings let you know if you're drifting out of the lane. It will alert you to readjust your direction.
