The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to win awards, and it’s no surprise once you take a closer look at the innovation packed into each one.

Standard Safety Features

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was named the 2024 IIHS Top Safety Pick which comes as no surprise once you know just how many safety features come standard. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Active Lane Management, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection. Each Grand Cherokee also has a backup camera with rear parking assistance, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-path detection.

Available Safety Features

The innovation in safety only continues with available safety options. This includes a digital rearview mirror that uses the rear camera and an LCD monitor to give you a high-definition view of the road behind you. You can also upgrade to a 360-degree surround view camera and available Night Vision that scans for animals and pedestrians up to 328 feet ahead of the vehicle and displays the view on your instrument panel.

Hands-Free Driving Assist may also be available, with a Jeep Connect subscription. This allows for hands-free lane centering and adaptive cruise control functionality.

Hybrid 4xe

The Grand Cherokee is available as a 4xe: a hybrid option that doesn’t sacrifice power or capability.  The 2.0L DOHC DI Turbo PHEV engine is standard on each one. You get up to 375 horsepower, a 6,000 maximum towing capacity, and a 470-mile range on the battery or the equivalent of 56 miles per gallon. It has a water-sealed battery pack and protected undercarriage so you can still drive it anywhere.

The 4xe comes with three driving modes. Hybrid Mode uses both fuel and an electric battery. Electric Mode only uses the battery, while eSave reserves battery power.

Suspension and Drive Systems

The Grand Cherokee offers multiple systems to make driving on any surface better and easier. The Quadra-Trac II system is a two-speed transfer case that detects tire slip from sensors and takes corrective action as needed. The Quadra-Drive II transfers up to 100 percent of available torque to a single rear wheel for amazing driving capability in any weather.

The Quadra-Lift Air Suspension system automatically lowers your Grand Cherokee at highway speeds for better aerodynamics. It raises the vehicle when you go off-road to help you clear obstacles. The Selec-Terrain Traction Management system lets you choose different modes based on road conditions: Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, and Mud/Sand.

Latest Technology Advancements

Every Grand Cherokee model comes with UConnect 5, which allows voice commands, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. Some models also include available TomTom navigation. Other available features include a co-pilot function with a screen for the front passenger. They can use this to send directions to the driver’s display screen. A 10-inch head up display is also available to provide essential driver information on the windshield.
