Crossover SUVs are very popular nowadays, mainly because they fit many different roles. A modern crossover has the elegance and comfort of a sedan, but can still get dirty and venture on many off-road trails with ease. The 2020 Jeep Compass perfectly exemplifies this versatility, with each of its trims being tailored for different purposes.
Sport Trim
The Sport trim is the base configuration of the 2020 Jeep Compass but has many features that only come as options for other vehicles. It’s powered by a 2.4-liter MultiAir I-4 engine that can deliver up to 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, helped by a six-speed manual transmission. It also comes with many interior comfort and technology features, such as a seven-inch touch-screen infotainment system, phone pairing compatibility through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB ports, or Bluetooth, automatic dual-zone climate control, and a six-speaker audio system.
Latitude Trim
The Latitude trim adds even more features to the 2020 Jeep Compass, like roof rails, keyless ignition and entry, 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, and satellite radio. There’s also a special upgrade for this trim called Altitude, adding elegant appearance features, such as 18-inch black aluminum wheels, black grille with black rings, two-tone exterior paint with gloss black roof, and other black exterior elements, along with beautiful piano black interior accents.
Limited Trim
If you’re looking for the 2020 Jeep Compass with the most comfort-oriented tech features, the Limited trim is definitely the way to go. It comes with gorgeous exterior elements like the 18-inch polished aluminum wheels with gray pockets, and two-tone paint with a gloss black rooftop. On the interior, the large 8.4-inch touch-screen interface will take care of all your infotainment needs and the color customizable driver information display will give the Compass an even more modern feel. Similarly to the Latitude trim’s Altitude upgrade package, the Limited trim has a High Altitude version with added features.
Trailhawk Trim
All 2020 Jeep Compass trims are competent off-roaders, but the Trailhawk does it exceptionally well. It only comes in an all-wheel-drive version, unlike the other trims that have front-wheel drive as standard and AWD as an extra option. On the interior, although it’s based on the Latitude trim, it also features many upgrades from the Limited trim, including the impressive 8.4-inch touch screen. Also, just because it’s designed for rough terrains doesn’t make it less elegant, with elements like 17-inch Diamond Cut aluminum wheels, a black hood decal, and special Trailhawk badging.
However, the reason why the Trailhawk is so popular is its off-road enhancements. Things like Jeep’s exclusive Active Drive Low system, hill descent control, special suspensions, skid plates, tow hooks, and more all make this trim an outdoor enthusiast’s best friend, especially on very difficult terrains.
There’s a good reason why many people simply call any all-terrain vehicle “a Jeep”. The manufacturer’s fantastic reputation for building dependable SUVs kept growing over the past seven decades and models like the 2020 Compass are a clear indication that Jeep has no plans to slow down and will be making quality vehicles well into the future.
