2022 Dodge Challenger
The 2022 Dodge Durango hits the market with more prowess and splendor than its predecessors. From the three-row seating to the tech-focused amenities, this midsize SUV is stocked with all the tools you need to make your journey a success.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Trims include the SXT, GT, GT Plus, RT, Citadel, RT Plus, and SRT 392. The base sets the stage with 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, a colored grille with chrome surround, a roof rack, a rear bumper step, and unique LED lighting systems. You can finish off the look with a topcoat of your choice. Options include Destroyer Gray, DB Black, F8 Green, Octane Red, and White Knuckle. Premium upfits for the group include a black or metal-accented grille, a rear power liftgate, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. A sporty collection of racing stripes are also up for grabs, from sleek shades such as Bright Blue, Gunmetal Low Gloss, and Flame Red. Drivers of the SRT 392 can also opt for a trim-exclusive Redline Stripe accent.
Engine (Power)
The Dodge Durango runs with a standard 3.6-liter V-6 and eight-speed automatic transmission. Together these units produce 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A sequential shift control system is included as well, with steering wheel-mounted controls an available add-on.
You can also upgrade to a 5.7-liter V-8 that outputs 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Or, you could choose a 6.4-liter V-8 that returns 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
This SUV offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. However, the SRT 392 is only offered with the latter setup. Mileage ratings for the two systems vary, but the best figures are available with the V-6 engine and rear-wheel drive: 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Base-level amenities range from antilock disc brakes to electric power-assist steering to a sturdy suspension system. A towing capacity of 6,200 pounds, on the other hand, is optional. Depending on the trim, the Durango can tow up to 8,700 pounds.
Interior
This six-seater comes with a full floor console, a partial-leather steering wheel, rear air conditioning outlets, and a driver's seat with power recline and lumbar support. Other perks include 85.1 cubic feet of cargo space, voice-activated audio control, and dual front-row LCD monitors. Luxurious comforts such as heated front seats, a first-row glass sunroof, and leather upholstery are available upon request. The same goes for multimedia gadgets such as a garage door transmitter, HD radio, integrated navigation services, and a nine-speaker audio system.
Safety Features
The 2022 Dodge Durango offers standard equipment such as overhead curtain air bags, a panic alarm, and an electronic stability control system with anti-roll function. More impressive still, this model features advanced safety technologies such as all-speed traction control, blind-spot warning, and rear parking sensors for added peace of mind.
Higher trims chuck in options such as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross path detection, forward collision warning with active braking support, and lane departure warning with lane keep assist. Front parking sensors and rain-sensing windshield wipers are also on the market.
